Studying Physics concepts for JEE Toppers’ Style

Mastering the concepts of a subject like Physics before an entrance exam, more so, one like JEE is of utmost importance. With the exam being an objective one, it becomes imperative that all the concepts and theories are clear to students before they take up practical questions on the same. Here are a few tips you should keep in mind when planning to study the conceptual part of Physics as part of your JEE preparation:

1. Start from the first chapter

That is, do not pick up a chapter from the middle of the textbook you are referring to. Ideally, a good textbook is supposed to have a well-formatted order, and starting your preparation from the first chapter should keep you sorted and give you good speed too.

2. Read definitions, understand them

The basic way to understand any concept in Physics would be to first read the definitions to the various concepts being explained in the chapter. More importantly, understanding the concepts becomes easier if you have read about them in the chapter at least once.

3. Practice examples given with text

When studying different concepts in a chapter, there are often examples given to show how practical problems for better explanations. These questions are typically made to explain the content in the most comprehensive fashion those as and when you come across any. These will help you understand the concepts faster and better.

4. Practise as many questions as you can

The more you practise, the better you get to understand what you're reading. There are several types of question in a single exercise that can give you a good idea of an entire concept. Practise as many questions in the exercise as possible and do not jump to questions you think are easier than the others.

5. Read from one book at a time

Reading from too many books at a time may confuse you to a level where even the easiest of concepts are not clear to you. Different books contain different words and ways to explain the theories and concepts. Read from only one book primarily and refer to other books once the concepts are clear to you.
