Why Pakistan under general Parvez Musharraf cannot be called democracy

SOLUTION:

Pakistan under General Musharraf could not be called a democracy because-
  1. General Musharraf did not acquire power through democratic means. Instead, he came to power by overthrowing a democratically elected government.
  2.  There were no free and fair elections in Pakistan under General Musharraf.
  3.  There was no constitutional way in in which General Musharraf could be removed from power.
  4.  General Musharraf exercised supreme power without any of the checks and balances of a democracy.
  5. The major decisions were taken by the military rulers and General Musharraf and not by the National assembly.  Even the work of civilian cabinet was monitored and supervised by National Security Council comprising of military officers.
