Who got the idea of painting rooms,houses,etc with colours

Beauty attracts homo sapiens and that is why it was just a maja depiction of fact that they wanted to make things around them look attractive and beautiful therefore anyone from proto history to prehistory have got an idea of painting houses pottery etc.
