Who gives government this power to make decisions and unforce laws

Dear Student,

a Ours is representative democracy where people elect their representatives who in turn make laws for them.
b. It is a government based on the collective consent of the people.
c. The government derives this power from the people of the country.
d. The government has to ensure that it works within the limits of the constitution  which specifies the rules and regulations and does not misuse powers.
e. Constitution thus prevents arbitrary exercise of power.
