Whatdo you understand by the game’s (cricket) ‘equipment’?

The game’s‘equipment’ refers to the tools used in cricket such asthe bat, ball, stumps, gloves, pads, etc. The bat consists of twopieces, the blade which is made out of the wood of the willow treeand the handle which is made out of cane. Cricket had refused toremake its tools with industrial or man-made materials such asplastic, fibreglass and metal. But in the matter of protectiveequipment, cricket has been influenced by technological change. Theinvention of vulcanised rubber led to the introduction of pads in1848 and protective gloves soon afterwards. Now, cricket isunimaginable without helmets made out of metal and syntheticlightweight materials.
