What is the difference between the "Gross Cropped Area" and the "Net Down Area"?

Solution:
Net sown area means the total area held by farmers for cultivation.

Gross Cropped area means the sum of the total area used for the cultivation. Such as we have three cropping seasons Rabi, Kharif, and Zaid. If a person has 2 Hectares of land, then the net sown area is equal to 2 hectares only. If three seasons of cropping are used on the land then Rabi (2+) Kharif(2+) and Zaid(2+) hence equal 6 hectares for the Gross cropped Area.
