Speech and article writing are diverse in the following contexts:

• Speech is delivered in front of an audience whereas, article is a piece of writing about a particular subject in a newspaper or magazine.
• A speech begins with a formal address to the listeners in its opening lines. An article does not have such a requirement. It has the title in the center, name of the writer on the extreme left of the page.
