What is the additive inverse of a number ?

additive inverse of a no. when added to the no. yields zero 
therefore additive inverse of the no. is same as the no. but with opposite sign.
ex.
say no. is 3 so additive inverse is ( 3 but with opposite sign) so -3
as 3+(-3) = 0
