what is oblique binary fission .Explain the mechanism of this type of fission taking the example of Ceratium??????????
Oblique Binary fission is a kind of asexual reproduction in which plane is divided obliquely
resulting in the formation of two unequal daughter cells. It is observed in some organisms of
kingdom Protista
Ceratium is a genus of the phlyum Dinoflagellata . Ceratium reproduces through oblique
binary fission. In this process two daughter cell involve division of flagellum & flagellar
structures. Simultaneously mitotic div occurs in nucleus & nuclei produced migrate
laterally. Also the divisions of cytoplasm occurs from anterior to posterior end of the cell
