# what is incident ray and emergent ray ?

The ray which originally falls on the surface of a medium is the incident ray.

The ray which finally emerges out of the other medium back to the original one is called the emergent ray

here AO is the incident ray and BC is the emergent ray.

its quiet easy, look, the ray which falls obliquely in a medium  which is optically rarer  or denser than the medium from which its coming is incident ray & the ray which  out after refraction is the emargeht ray

Ray which fall on the surface called incident ray. and reflected ray which emerges from a medium called emergent ray.it always parllel to incident ray
• 5
The emergent ray is the ray of light which passes through a denser medium(glass) to a rarer medium(air).

Ray is straight line indicating the path of the light..

Emergant ray in Refraction - the ray which travels from rarer medium to denser medium.

Incident ray is a ray of light which comes out from source of light while emergent ray is a refracted ray which comes out after double refraction in glass slab

At the junction of the optic nerve and the retina there are no sensory cells so no vision is possible at the spot . this is called blind spot

It reflect blue light and absorbe other light.
• 1
The ray which falls on any reflecting surface is known as incident ray so that after reflection the angle made by the incident ray and the normal is always equal to the angle made by the reflected ray and the normal
• 1
Any ray which falls on the surface is known as the incident ray and the ray reflected back at the same angle is known as the reflected ray . Also the normal is a imaginary line drawn between the angle of incidence and angle of reflection.

Which light stricking on a surface are called incident ray .
Which ray pass clearly in one medium to another medium are called emergent ray.
• 1
In refraction, the light that passes from one medium and penetrates in the second medium, the ray is called incident ray. Emergent ray is the ray which comes out of the second medium after deviation.

Solution 1:Incident ray is the ray that passes on the normal creating angle of incidence and the ray which comes back after passing the normal is reflected ray.
Solution 2: Emergent ray is the ray that emerges ( moves) out of the refracted surface

Incident ray : incoming ray from source before reflrction/refraction or other optical phenomenon
Emergent ray : passage ray through prism or double refraction or double medium change then ray is called emergent

The angle at which the incident ray passes through the surface of the prism to the normal is called an incident angle and the?angle by which the ray emerges out of the prism to the normal?is called an emergent ray. ... When a ray of light enters from lighter medium to denser medium it bends towards the normal.
