Factors affecting the selection of promotion mix -

1. Type of products - There are different types of product like branded, non-branded, necessity etc. So different method is used for different products like advertising is required for branded product personal selling for non branded product.
2. Use of product- There are different uses of products like some products are industrial while some are consumer products. Thus sale promotion is used for consumer products while industrial goods are sale through personal selling.
3. Availability of funds- If a firm have more funds than they can do advertising whereas if firm have less funds they can use personal selling for selling their product.
4. Complexity of product - Personal selling is used for risky, technical products whereas advertising is used for easy and simple handled products.
