A void surrounded by 4 spheres is called a tetrahedral void.

A void surrounded by 6 spheres is called an octahedral void.

In a solid,

Number of tetrahedral voids = 2 × Number of close-packed particles

In a solid,

Number of octahedral voids = Number of close-packed particles
