c: Shah Jahan:

1. Shah Jahan was considered as one of the greatest Mughal emperors, who was keen on expanding the influence of Mughal empire,Mughal campaigns continued in the Deccan under Shah Jahan, Campaigns were launched against Ahmadnagar. In 1632 Ahmadnagar was finally annexed and the Bijapur forces sued for peace.
2. After the death of his father Jahangir, he executed his rival and also imprisoned his step mother to establish rule without any challenge,
3.Shah Jahan also launched campaign against the Sikhs and ordered destruction of temples.
4. He also launched campaigns against the Rajputs and it was at that time he ordered Aurangzeb to serve in his place, later only to be put under house arrest by his son.
5. In last years he witnessed conflict among his sons for the throne, who never favoured partition of the empire between his brothers and himself.He also accused his brother Dara Shikoh of being non muslim , and got him executed.

6.  Shah-Jahan was called the Engineer king as he was greatly interested in architecture.
7. Shah Jahan's period is known as the Golden Age of Architecture.
  Shah Jahan had a special liking for white marble. He laid emphasis on uniformity and symmetry.

 Ans 2:

Sher Shah 
Suri was a founder of Sur empire in North India and took control of the 
Mughal empire in 1540. He was considered to be a great administrator, who introduced many changes:


a.  Sher Shah himself headed the Central Administration. All the  military and administrative powers of the state rested with him.
b.  He divided the government into departments.

c. Each department was under the charge of a minister, assisting officials.

d.  Sher Shah divided his whole kingdom into 47 Sarkars.  Each Sarkar was divided into Parganas. He appointed very able officers in the Sarkars  and the Parganas.
e. Sher Shah was the first Muslim ruler who got the land  measured and fixed the amount of the land revenue.
f.  He  retained the customary rights of the peasant and  introduced the Ryotwari system .
g.  He got the revenue collected directly from the peasants. The peasants were required to pay 1/3rd of their produce as taxes.
h. He established a large standing disciplined, efficient and strong army.
i.  He renovated the road that connected Sonargaon to Peshwar sarais( restrooms) were built for the travellers
standardised coins, weights and measures.
j.  The Grand Trunk Road was the longest and the most important of the four major roads that Sher Shah built to promote trade.
