a. Islamic era was known for its grandeur, unique architectural style, domes , arches.

b. The Sultanate rulers basically developed Indo Islamic style style of architecture representing ​Arabian and Persian traditions of Architecture, comprising of domes, arches.
c. They also introduced, tall and sturdy towers called minarets in the four corners of the courtyards. Inner 
Maqsura were reserved for chiefs.
d They  built arches above the doorways and windows instead of beams .
e. The outer surface of the dome had rich colourful tiles.
f. Material like marbles, bricks were used but no iron was used. Islam however, prohibited the use of animals or plant figures.
g. During this period geometrical designs were used for decoration.
h. Some of the important buildings were the Quwat- ul – Islam mosque, the Alai Darwaza, the tomb of Ghiasudduin Tughlaq, Ferozshah kotla, Tuglaqgabad​ fort.
