Kindly explain the question as given below

Solution
Litmus is a mixture of organic compounds which is obtained from lichens. Lichens are the organism which lives in symbiotic relationship. Thus lichen is a combined living of algae and fungi. They live together.
From several species of lichens litmus is obtained. Litmus act as natural pH indicator. It turns into red colour in presence of acid and turns blue in presence of base.

Litmus solution is obtained by crushing and grinding of lichens, the mixture is then added to neutral water to get the required litmus solution.
Litmus paper is made from wood cellulose. Thus litmus solution is in liquid form while litmus paper is similar to a solid paper. Both works exactly in similar manner.
