Is simple presentence when converted to reported speech in simple presentence.

Reported speech of simple present tense:

- If it is a universal truth or an action that is repeated/done regularly, then the simple present tense remains unchanged in the reported speech.

- For example: Rita said, "The sun rises in the East".

Rita said that the sun rises in the East.

- Otherwise, we usually report what was said at a different time, so the tense changes.

- For example:  Ram said," We eat our food."

Ram said that they ate their food. (simple present tense changes into simple past tense)
