is collenchyma tissue present in monocots?and arethey present in roots of plants?
cuzi find to reallycontradictory statements in two books. so please tell me
Collenchyma tissue is usually present in the stem and leaf stalks of dicots. It is absent in monocots and in the roots of dicots. Most of the monocots develop sclerenchyma tissue in their early stages of development. However there are some exceptions like- in grasses, collenchyma substitutes sclerenchyma at many locations such as at the junction of blade and sheath.
