We have,

x² + kx + 6 = (x + 2)(x + 3) for all value of x.

⇒ x² + kx + 6 = x ²+ 2x + 3x + 6

⇒ x² + kx + 6 = x ²+ 5x + 6

On comparing the coefficient of same terms on both the sides, we get

k = 5
