if side of cube is doubled then its volume will be increased 8 times .

for example there are sugar cubes of 2 cm side and we need to increase the volume of sugar i these sugar cube. 
volume = 2 * 2 *2 = 8 cm³
so we can double the sides to increase the volume sugar contained.

so the side will be =  4 cm

volume = 4 * 4* 4 = 64 cm<sup>3
