How has the world's view shifted from the mechanistic to holistic and ecological?

Dear,
The world earlier took earth as a granted place , deteriorating the nature all around it just for its comfort.. But now, people have realised the importance of every resource and therefore they have stopped tarnishing the nature. they have become more sensible than before after the various movements,meetings,protests and every peck undertaken to resolve the world's perspective from just taking the resources as granted to a holistic and ecological view, that makes them see the nature as a gift by God that has to be valued and respected  .
