A political party is an organised group of people whose main aim to contest in elections, come to power and retain power. A political party in order to contest in elections has to :

a. Put up their candidates.
b. Give tickets to their candidates.
c. Candidates then file their nomination papers at the office of Election Commission along with other personal details and affidavit.
d. A party also put forward its policies and programmes in the form of manifesto to the people.
e. A party is then involved in campaigning process to win elections.
