Explain why we can easily move our hand in air but to do the same through a plank of wood, we need a karate expert.

Particles of air have large spaces between them. On the other hand, wood has little space between its particles. Also, it is rigid. For this reason, we can easily move our hands in air, but to do the same through a solid block of wood, we need a karate expert.

bcz the particles of air have the large spaces between them but the particle of wood are very close to each other by which they have a strong force of attraction...

Particles have large interparticle spaces within them whereas wood or brick ,water or any liquid have less interparticle spaces in them thats why we can move our hand easily in air.

Particles of air have large spaces between them and their force of attraction is less. Thus we can move our hand easily through it.  But in a plank of wood the particles are closely packed and their force of attraction is very strong.  Thus, we need a karate expert to move our hand through it.

We can easily move our hand in air only because air particles have larger intermolecular spaces in between it's particles whereas  in a solid the particles are tightly packed with almost no space left in between. Therefore to do the same through a solid block , a karate expert is needed as his hands are strong

particles of  air have alot of space between them.but the particles in wood are tightly packed.it is non compressible and rigid too. so we can move our hands in air and to dothe latter we need a karate expert.

Because particals of air have maximum space between them and they also have less force attraction because of the kinetic energy . But in the case of wood plank the particals are closely packed and they have maximum force of attraction . Thus we are not able to move our hands between the wooden plank.

As we all know that in gaseous there is a high molecular space between them. So we can move our hands . But in solid inter molecular space is negligible so we can't move our hand freely in solid...

Because the air particals have space between them so we can move our hand but through a plank we want a cuttet for move our hand
  • 2
the particles of air has more intermolecular space than compared to solids where as in solids the intermolecular force of attraction is more than that in gases
  • 7
The particals of wood is closly bound and the air partical are far from each other . So , we can move our hand in air but not in wooden block
  • 2
Particles of gas have more space between them .on the other hand the block of wood( solid) have least space between them . that's why we can easily move our hand in air.

Air, primarily made up of oxygen (for arguments sake) is a gas. The molecules in a gas are spread wide apart and so air is not very dense.

A block of wood is a solid, meaning the molecules are packed tight together in a rigid formation. This means the object is very dense and so is much harder to penetrate.

Particles of air have large intermolecular space and weak intermolecular force between them. Hence we can move our hands through air.
  • 1
Air has intermolecular spaces between them but wooden plank has no space between them and so we need an karate ecpert to break through it.
  • 3
Particles are tightly packed with each other and that's the reason why we need a karate expert to move his hand through a wooden plank
  • 1
wood has little space between them
  • -2
Because air is in gasseos form and it's particles are rare. While wood is opposite of it.

Particles of air has very large spaces in between them and as it is gaseous state...it's molecules are very lightly packed.i.e. the intermolecular force of attraction between the particles of air is very less so we are able to move our hand in air freely but to do the same thing through a plank of wood we need a karate expert..

PARTICLE OF AIR ARE HAVING MORE SPACE WHILE WOODEN PLANK A SOLID IS ALWAYS HAVING LESS SPACE BETWEEN THEM

the inter particulate forces of attraction is weak in water therefore we can move our hand easily and in wood it is very strong therefore we required a karate expert to our hand through it

As the particles of air are freely movable and they have all the characteristics of gases but the same in solid block of wood the particles are closely packed and is not easy to break.. Karate experts could break it as they apply more force on it.. And this is the reqson y we coupd move our hands freely in air and could not do the same in solid..

In air the interparticle spaces are very large in number and the interpaticle forces are quite weak. These can be easily overcome. That is why our hand can move in air. These spaces help in moving our hands in air but in a solid block the constituent particles are quite close and the interparticles forces are very strong. In case one has to move his hand through a solid it will be extremely difficult. Only a karate expert may do so

Because particles of air have large spaces between them and they have very less attraction force . In the other hand , wood has little space and high attraction force. And wood is rigid also . So that is why we are able to move out hands in air but to do the same thing through a solid block of wood , we need a karate expert....

The particles of a gas are constantly moving in all the directions with different speeds. Therefore they do not have a fixed volume and hence completely fill the vessel in which they are kept.
