EXPLAIN THE STRUCTURE OF THE ATMOSPHERE?

The atmosphere is divided into following layers:
1.Troposhere(0 to  12km)
a.  It contains 75% of the gases in the atmosphere.
b.This is where we live, planetary winds moves and weather occurs.
c. With the increase in height, temperature decreases. The temperature drops about 6.5 degrees Celsius for every kilometre above the earth's surface.
d.The tropopause is located at the top of troposphere where temperature is constant and jet streams lies.

2. Stratosphere ( 12 to 50 km)
a. This layer contain ozone layer and it absorbs U.V. rays.
b.  In this layer temperature increases with increases altitude.

3. Mesophere (50 to 80 km)
a. This is the coldest region of the atmosphere, temperature drops to about -100 degrees Celsius in this layer.
b. This layer protects from meteoroids by burning them.

4. Thermosphere (80 km and above)
a. Thermosphere means "heat sphere", the air is very thin here.
b.  Temperature is very high here , often reaches to 2000 degree Celsius.
c.  This layer contain:Ionosphere and Exosphere.
