difference between transpotr and transmembrane protein?

Proteins of various kinds are used for transport of substances across the cell membrane. Any protein involved in such activity is called transport protein. A transmembrane protein is one which extends from one side of the membrane and permeates to the other side piercing the membrane layer and helping in transport of selective substances to and fro from the cell.
