Can plants grow in the B-horizon?

Dear student,
Please find below the solution to the asked query

B-horizon is a mineral subsurface horizon and is also known as zone of accumulation. This layer forms the basis for a plant to grow by allowing the growth of roots. Germination of seeds also take place in this layer.
It is quite impossible for a plant to grow in this horizon. Although, sometimes, small plants may be found here.

This layer is made up of minerals and decomposed organic matter and it is also very dark in colour. This is the layer that many plants roots grow in. B HORIZON- This is the layer that we call "subsoil" and it is located just below the A Horizon. ... Plant roots are not found in this layer.
