are there any similarities or differences in the distribution of settlements shown on maps 1 and 2?

In map first the settlements are separated and wide open where as the settlements in map 2 are very dense ,tightly packed showing the density of population ,nearness of the shelters.The similarity is that the shelters are located along the banks of the rivers.
