A dull witted farmer decided to count sheep by first counting their legs . He counted 456 legs and reasoned that he had 113 sheep . Assuming each sheep had 4 legs , was he correct ?

Dear Student,

Given, each sheep has 4 legs and total number of legs=456 legsSo, number of sheeps=4564=114 sheepsThus, farmer was not correct because there were 114 sheeps.

No, he wasn't correct because 456/4 = 118 and 113 x 4 = 452
