10.11 part(i)

can we convert ethanol to chloroethane in (i.) by adding HCl + ZnCl 2 ?

plzzzzzzzzzzzzzz give solution by using hcl if possible

Alcohols can be converted into alkyl halides by many reagents. Ethanol can be converted into chloroethane by using PCl5, Cl2 in the presence or red phosphorus, PCl3, or SOCl2. We can use HCl in the presence of ZnCl2 to covert ethanol to chloroethane.

i think we can convert it as Hcl+zncl2 is a lucas reagent and we can convert ethanol to chloroethane.

refer chapter alcohol,part 2,class 12th chemistry,

it is mentioned over there.
