Dear student,

Parasitic adaptations in liver fluke:
Free-swimming larvae have cilia and the cercariae have a flagellum-like tail to help them swim through the aquatic environment and also allow them to reach the plants on which they form a cyst.
To attach within the host, F. hepatica has oral suckers and body spines.

Parasitic adaptations in Round worm:-

The body is long and cylindrical, pointed at both ends.

The mouth is bounded by three lips which help the parasite to attach with mucous membrane of the host’s intestine.

The parasite is devoid of locomotory organs as the parasite lives in the intestine where protection from enemies and food supply are ensured.

The body wall of Ascaris is covered with cuticle, resistant to the digestive enzymes of the host.

Parasitic adaptations in Leech :
The leech also has chemoreceptors near their head that allow them to sense different chemicals.
They have large concentrations of nerves in their epidermis that allow them to detect movement in water as well as touch.
