1. The first kind of print technology involved hand printing, later books were printed by rubber paper in China.

2. Earliest form of printing also involved woodblocks printing, China was the first country to use paper, ink and carved wooden blocks.

3. Later developments in the print technology involved first movable type which included movable pieces of metal type.

4.  Printing presses came into being, Gutenberg is credited with developing first modern movable type, which involved making of metal mould for casting types of different sizes.

5. By mid 19th century power driven mechanical cylindrical press came into being, capable of printing 8,000 sheets per hour.

6. We witnessed development of offset press for printing colors.

7. Then further innovations like electrically operated presses, automatic paper reels. photoelectric controls of color register all revolutionized printing.
