Tsunami is a series of water waves caused by the displacement of a large volume of a body of water. Tsunamis are generated when the earthquakes occur beneath the sea, the water above the sea is displaced from its equilibrium position. It cause a series of waves. When large areas of the sea floor rises that results in large waves, a tsunami is created.

Some earthquakes which occur underwater cause a great effect on the water and cause very high waves.This natural phenomenon is reffered to as Tsunami.The damage to life and property is far more than earthquakes.
