Withdrawal column of the pass book undercasted by Rs 100. What will be the treatment for this if we are starting with balance of pass book in Bank Reconciliation Statement?

Dear student,

The withdrawal side of a passbook has been undercast by 100 implies that the debit (or withdrawal) side of the passbook is recorded short by Rs 100.

In case Balance as per Cash Book is given, then we deduct Rs 100 in the Bank Reconciliation Statement. That is, it will be recorded in the minus column.

On the other hand, if Balance as per Pass Book is given to us, then we add this Rs 100 in the Bank Reconciliation Statement i.e. we record it on the plus column of BRS.
