Why was the Maharaja of Pratibandapuram called the Tiger King? How did his campaign of tiger hunting continue? How was he avenged by the hundredth tiger?

Dear Student,

Dear Student,

Dear Student,

The Maharaja of Pratibandapuram was hailed as the 'Tiger King' becuase of the astrologer's premonition that since the king has taken birth in the hour of the bull, the reason for his death would be a tiger. That is when the king decided to kill every tiger in the kingdom, to prove the prediction wrong.
His campaign of indiscriminate tiger hunting killed seventy tigers in a few months. He went on to kill ninety nine tigers in all, by even killing tigers outside of his kingdom, those which which belonged to kingdom whose princess he was to marry. He commanded to be brought one last tiger to kill.
Although the king believed that the hundredth tiger was killed by him, the truth was far from it. The king as well as the story had an ironical end when the king gets killed not by a real tiger, but by infection induced from the slivers in a wooden tiger toy.
