Why shelter belt is responsible for stabilization of sand dunes and stabilizing desert in Western India??

Shelter belt means planting vegetation across the sand dunes marginal areas. Plantation of trees in the margins of sand dunes prevent the deserts to further spread eastwards which is rapidly increasing as per recent studies.Shelter belts also provide shelter against wind action and prevent soil erosion by acting as sand binders.
