Why NaCl is hard though it is a crystalline solid but talcum powder is soft and smooth though it is an amorphous solid?

Dear student,
NaCl is a compound that has particular three dimensional structure. They have ions which attracts and forms strong bbond.
In talcom powder  the structure is not defined due to which it results in its soft and smooth texture.
