  1. To question the ruling party and hold them accountable to the public.
  2. To debate on legislative issues in the House and during the Select Committee process to ensure that the legislation receives due consideration.
  3.  Equally responsible to work in the best interests of the people.
  4. To take care that government does not take such steps that may have negative effect for the people.
  5. Basically the Opposition party acts on behalf of common people and should be in position to help the ruling party if the issues are in favour of the masses.
