why is larynx also known as adam's apple?
Larynx, a sound producing organ, grows larger during puberty in boys than girls. It looks like a small rounded apple, sticks out at the front of the throat. It is also called as the voice box. It is producing articulate human speech.
There are several possibilities on the name ‘Adam’s apple’. Technically it is known as Laryngeal prominence. It is usually said to take this name from the story of the Garden of Eden, where Adam ate apple and it got struck in his throat. But there is no proof.
