why does the pole star appear stationary in the skly ,whereas all other stars appear to move from east to west???

As pole star lies close to the earth's axis, hence it appears statonary whereas other stars are far away and hence they appear to move from west to east.

Many star appear to mmove due to the rotation of the earth. But pole star does not appear to move because it lies on top of earth's axis.

The pole star appears to be stationary as it is at the top of the north pole of the earth. Stars do not move or rotate, they remain stationary in their positions ( like the sun ). stars appear to move because of the earth's rotation and revolution. When the Pole star is situated above the axis of the earth it appears to be stationary unlike other stars.

Pole star is located above the north pole and the earth revolve on its axis passing through the poles. So north pole looks stationary because of its location.

Pole star remain stationary because the are located in the axis of the earth.

THE REASON IS THAT THE POLE STAR IS JUST ABOVE THE IMAGINARY AXIS OF THE EARTH.

ANOTHER FACT I WANT TO TELL THAT THE AXIS REVOLUTES AT THE RATE OF 11000 YEARS, THEN THE POLE WILL ALSO ROTATE LIKE THE OTHER STARS AS PER YOUR WISH MY FRIEND

Because pole star lies perpendicular to the earth's axis.

It's a small definition the pole star is situated in the direction of earth axis so it does not appear to move
  • 3
Pole star remain stationary beacuse it lies on the imaginary axis of the earth and it is observed that it follows earth as earth revolutes but it is not proven
  • -4
Pole star appears stationary as it is the only star positioned close to the earth's axis
  • 5
Pole star is located above the north pole and the earth revolve on its axis passing through the poles. so pole star appear stationary
  • -3
because it is situated in on the axis of the earth and does not appear move

The pole star  seems to be stationary as it is situated above the axis of rotation of earth. We know that the Axis of rotation is constant .Hence anything on its line remains or seems to be constant.

It is ao because the pole star lies on a line close to the axis of rotation of the earth. It is because of this feature this star helps travellers to find directions in night. It defines north direction.

All the other stars appear to revolve from east to west whereas pole star appears to be stationary as it lies above the North pole on the axis of rotation of the earth.

As pole star is situated in the northern direction of the earth's north pole that is why pole star do not move .
  • 0
The pole star is situated in the direction of the earth axis and that is why it does not appear to move even though all starts appear that they are moving because of the rotation of earth. So, pole star seems to be stationary

as it lies right above the north pole ,so it does not move.

The pole star appears stationary as seen from the earth because it lies close to axis of rotation of the earth
  • 0
it appears to be stationary because it lies right above the axis of the earth. suppose you are standing under a fan you sees the centre part in one place whereas the wings of the fan moving.

pole star lies on the axis of the earth so when seen from the earth it appears to be stationary.

ITS SIMPLE BECAUSE IT IS PRENTENT ON THE NORTH POLE

How can you recognise the planets venus, mars ,and saturn in the sky?

Stars are stationary. They cannot move from one spot to another
  • -1
Since pole star is located at the axis of rotation of Earth. It appears to be stationary while the others stars appear to move around pole star.
  • 0
Because it lies exactly on the axis of rotation of the Earth and all other stars appears to move east to west because it does not lies exactly on the axis of rotation of the Earth

Moon is observed to be completely round in shape. This phase is called the?full moon.
  • 1
This is because the earth revolves on its own axis passing through the pole . So that's why the pole star appear to move from east to west ( stationary )

Pole star is right above the North Pole whare as the other are not and when earth moves east to west

Pole Star appear stationery because it's locates in the axis of earth . so we see as a stationery .
We see that all the star appear to move from east to west because our earth is rotate from west to east .

The pole star is often referred to as a special star. It lies on the imaginary axis of the earth 's rotation. So, when earth rotates, it seems to remain stationary from the earth 's surface, while the other stars appear to move from east to west in the night sky.

It is so as the pole star lies on the equator while other stars seem to move because of earth's rotation the pole star lies on the equator and doesn't seem to move

Because it is positioned close to the line of Earth's axis projected into space. As such, it is the only bright star whose position relative to a rotating Earth does not change. All other stars appear to move opposite to the Earth's rotation beneath them.
