Why do we need to study archaeological sources of history or what do archaeological sources tell us about history
Archaeological sources of history provide important and detailed information pertaining to a particular period. Sources like inscriptions are reliable sources of information about the history of any period. They help to explain chronology of events, important developments as they are substantiated by material evidences like coins, monuments, art and architecture.It provides us with a genuine information. We may give examples of , Jamait Khan Masjid built by Alauddin-Khalji, then the city of Tughluqabad as established by the Tuglaqs. Taj Mahal, Qutab Minar, Red Fort etc.
