why do plants die in summers if not watered?

rn

Your friends are correct,

In summer the temperature is very high, so rate of transpiration increases in plants that causes water deficiency in the cells of plants. As water is important for carrying out various life processes like photosynthesis, transportation of food and minerals etc for survival. So. if plant is not provided with enough water, it will not be able to perform photosynthesis and other process and will die.

Throughout the summer, there are plenty of times when it doesn’t rain for weeks on end. During these times, you have to water your plants because without the necessary water, plants will die.

Hope it Helps..

All living things need water to live. Like vise plants also need water. Green plants prepare food in the presence of water , carbondioxide, chlorophyll and sunlight. If one component is not there this process cannot begin. so if water is not there the photosynthesis will not take plac and thus they will die

In summer process of transpiration increases . Hence, more water is evaporated from plants and they require more water for survival
