why did virginia suggest that the ghost should emigrate to america

Virginia suggested that the ghost should emigrate to America because she felt that t would be best for him to find a life there. Her father would be more than willing to help him emigrate. She was sure that he will have a successful life there as a family ghost or he might even get a nice payment for being a grandfather to a family.
