why did the indian nawabs had to be persuaded to join the indian union??
One of the major challenges that Independent India was with regard to the Princely states. There were around 500 Princely states with Independent Nawab. They had to be persuaded because:
a. To complete the process of integration.
b. It would not have been possible to have independent Princely states within an Independent country
c. Many Nawab like Nizam of Hyderabad wanted to retain their independence, thus they had to be persuaded.
