John Glenn was the fifth person to travel to space. He was the oldest pesrson to fly to space. He was the first American to orbit the earth on Feb 20, 1962. He completed three orbits aboard the space.

Gus Grissom was the third person to travel to space. He went to space on July 21, 1961. He was  an original NASA Project Mercury Astronaut, U S airforce test pilot and a mechanical engineer.
