which hormone is called as the pregnancy hormone? ...why ?

@Shreya :- you can refer to the answer provided by your friend cedrick & Hiraa, Although I would like to clarify  one point i.e Human chorionic gonadotropin is known as pregnancy hormone as it is secreted during pregnancy by placenta. HCG further stimulates the secretion of progesterone.

Human Chorionic Gonadotropins ......It is made by cells that form the placenta, which nourishes the egg after it has been fertilized and becomes attached to the uterine wall.

Progestrone is known as pregnancy harmone because it is important for maintaining pregnancy in the fallowing ways:-

1.helps in thickening of endometrium

2.helps in implantation of embryo in uterus

3. helps in secretion of UTERINE MILK

4.Helps in formation of placenta

5.prevents ovulation during pregnancy

6.it inhibits uterine contractions 

7.it prevents menstral cycle during pregnancy

8.helps in growth and development of mammary glands during pregnancy....
