Whenever we act against the voice of our conscience, the result is suffering. Explain with reference to the poet’s action against the snake and its consequences.

Dear Student,

It is true that whenever we do anything against the voice of our conscious, we undergo lot of suffering. In the poem, the poet though hesitant, tries to kill the snake. His inner voice tells him not to do so but he ignores and attacks the snake. Later, he is full of guilt. He really hates himself for such a mean
act. He curses the voice of education that had always taught him to kill snakes, without any reason.

Hope this information will clear your doubts about topic.
