anything against the voice of our conscious, we undergo lot of
suffering In the poem, the poet though hesitant, tries to kill the
snake His inner voice tells him not to do so but he ignores and
attacks the snake Later, he is full of guilt He really hates
himself for such a mean
act He curses the voice of education that had always taught him to
kill snakes, without any reason
