WHEN WAS THE CALENDAR INVENTED?

Dear student

Though various calendars have been used throughout history, the first, near accurate calendar; the Julian calendar, was invented in 45 BCE. This was later replaced by the Gregorian calendar in 1582 CE. Today we are still using the Gregorian calendar as the de facto calendar.

Dear friend,
The New Year in 709 AUC began on 1 January and ran over 365 days until 31 December. Further adjustments were made under Augustus, who introduced the concept of the "leap year" in 737 AUC (AD 4). The resultant Julian calendar remained in almost universal use in Europe until 1582.
Hope this helps you!!!
