When Phenol reacts it does not liberate CO2. Why?
This is because if CO2 is released from phenol, the aromaticity of the compound will be lost as the carbon will be lost from the aromatic ring. This can never happen as the reactions of aromatic compounds produce at least one aromatic compound.
