What values do we learn from the chapter the Mirror?

Dear Student,
Given below is the answer to the question.

There are many morals and values that we can learn from the poem 'Mirror'. First of all it teaches us the importance of not having preconceptions. Just like every person who looks into the mirror is different in appearance, each individual is a unique creation and therefore we should not judge them on any grounds. Whatever the mirror sees, it swallows immediately. In the similar manner, rather than being critical about every detail, we should ignore the small and insignificant details that could affect our lives and the lives of others. The mirror is also truthful and in the same way, we ought to be true and genuine and do that which is noble. Just like a mirror reflects what comes before it like a lake, we ought to reflect what is within, on the outside too. We are not expected to be double sided. It is the face of the woman that replaces the darkness each morning. Similarly we ought to dispel the darkness in the lives of others.
