What r genomic & non-genomic DNAs???

Dear Student!

The genomic DNA refers to the complete DNA present in the cell i.e inside the mitochondria, nucleus and in chloroplast (in case of plant cells). This genomic DNA can further be classified as coding and non coding DNA. Coding DNA is one which codes for protein where as non coding DNA does not codes for any protein.

Non genomic DNA is nothing but rarely used term to denote non coding/ non functional DNA.

Genomic DNA is the DNA that holds the complete set of genetic data for an organism. The term “genomic DNA” is used to distinguish this type of DNA from other kinds of DNA
