What kind of irrigation works were developed during the chola rule?

Solution,
Chola rulers tend to get the major part of revenue from agriculture so it was very important for them to develop water resources and to improve irrigation. They dug wells, tanks and river channels to collect rainwater. With this they made Vativaykkal which is a criss-cross channel: a traditional way of rain water harvesting in Kaveri Delta. Vaykkal runs in east-west direction whereas Vati runs in north- south direction.
